Lifetime Legacy Vote

Vote for your favorite former state Queen to become a LIFETIME LEGACY QUEEN!

It is always difficult for me to answer questions about myself. I quickly want to give credit to those in my life who contributed to me becoming who I am.
As a mother of three amazing children I have learned the true meaning of altruism. To sacrifice self for others is the root of being a mother. Learning to forsake myself taught me to be a better mother and a better person.
Learning that my two younger children were diagnosed with behavioral disorders motivated me to pursue my degree in Psychology.
After completing that coursework as a single mother of three very active children, my degree is one of my greatest accomplishments.
With a mother, who is a life long educator-retired and a father who was dedicated to his craft of automotive excellence... hard work, determination and dedication has never been a stranger.
After graduating from my mother’s alma mater, it is exciting to see both my eldest daughter and middle son follow in our footsteps by attending Alcorn State University! I am also extremely proud of my youngest son who is attending Southern University as a member of the world famed Human Jukebox!

I am a lover of love and life. My passion for people and especially children is evident in my career choice in Mental Health.

My heart for ministry keeps me busy in speaking, praise dance and as a praise dance leader. I am also a member of the Gospel Believers of Natchez,Ms.

I welcome every opportunity to learn something new and share what I have learned in life with others.

I will end with one of my favorite quotes attributed to former President Theodore Roosevelt, “ No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.”

So if I have nothing but my heart to give. It is of my heart that I am willing to share!

Thank you for your time. I truly appreciate you allowing me to share so much of who I am with you!

Hope to see you all soon & thank you for you support!

“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” Dr. Seuss

My name is Cedenia, but many refer to me as Cee-Cee. Some hobbies of mine include singing (putting on concerts), planning and organizing events, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. I currently reside in the Flowood-Brandon area in which I will be representing Rankin County in the Mississippi Plus America Pageant.

A little about myself. In 2014, I graduated from Northwest Rankin High School. Upon this graduation, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree with a Finance minor from Belhaven University in 2018. Currently, I am pursuing my Master of Accountancy at Mississippi College which I anticipate completing the fall of this year. While being a full-time student, I am also employed full-time at Rockett, Inc. where I hold the position as a Production Control Administrator. I attend Word Alive Church and Communion House in Brandon, MS. Here I am very involved and passionate about growing God’s kingdom with the gifts I have been equipped with. A few of my involvement is being the Finance Chairman, a member of the Praise and Worship Team, and assisting the youth ministry. My future goals are to not become complacent, continue to seek growth and new opportunities, encourage and inspire young, teenage women, and to be an advocate for women and single parents.

I am excited about this experience and to enter a fun, loving community with other women who will turn into lifelong friends.

I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'Cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again

~Helen Reddy

I am often asked to introduce and/or identify myself. My simple reply is, I am Tawana Johnson. Conversely, I am much more than a simple name. Like all women, I am composed of many constructs such as, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, size, and shape. I am also charged and blessed with the opportunity to be a mother. I rock a cradle for two young individuals of immanent intellectual and personal prowess. I am the single mother of Ms. Kaylyn Johnson, college bound honor student, and Mr. Keegan Johnson, budding scholar and athlete.

Our collective journey has seen lots of unexpected and difficult changes, nevertheless it has been a beautiful ride. While going through life’s ups and downs, I am learning so much from my children. However, it is my greatest hope that I have been a role model that they are proud to call mom.

I am so excited to be a part of the first class of women competing in the Mississippi Plus America pageant!

”What holds you back is not what you are. It's what you think you aren't.”

GREETINGS EVERYONE,

I am Mrs. Latanya Howard Triggs. I am the wife of the wonderful and gracious Mr. Timothy D.Triggs and the mother of four: Joseph (22), TaTyana (20), Jermiah (19), and Jabari (18). I left my hometown of Greenville (yes I am a DELTA GIRL) and moved to Clinton on October 4, 2014, with my four children, a u-haul full of furniture, $60 in my pocket, no job, and no family within 90 miles. However, what I did have was God, a vision, goals, ambition, desire, and a plan.

After searching and struggling for two months, I finally started working part-time at Kirkland’s in Flowood, Ms. I was at Kirkland’s for only two short months, because my passion is and will always be working with adults. God led me to call Baptist Adult day back in October, but they didn't have any openings at the time. However, I never gave up and I kept my faith. January 16, 2015, I was hired at BAPTIST ADULT DAY as a PRN program assistant. Because of my hard work, dedication, motivation, drive, and the favor of God I am now the Activities Director.

As the activities director, I plan, implement and evaluate activities for my clients who have different types of dementia such as Alzheimer’s. I design programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, fulfillment and improve their daily living skills. I thank GOD every day for preparing me for what he has prepared for me.

Overall, I am elated to have this opportunity to be your MRS. PLUS AMERICA 2020.

LeMaudia Marie Strahan was born in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1993 and has spent all her life in Ridgeland. Upon graduating from Ridgeland High School, LeMaudia attended Mississippi College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree.

Because of her passion for the growth and nurturing of children, LeMaudia has dedicated her life to her profession as a preschool teacher. If you can't change it, change your attitude.” It is from the powerful words of Maya Angelou where LeMaudia learned to embrace herself for who she is and who she aspires to be by taking pride in her life’s journey no matter the trials and tribulations because she believes that there is always a way to rise above adversity, trauma, and failures.
