Lifetime Legacy Vote

Vote for your favorite former state Queen to become a LIFETIME LEGACY QUEEN!

It is always difficult for me to answer questions about myself. I quickly want to give credit to those in my life who contributed to me becoming who I am.
As a mother of three amazing children I have learned the true meaning of altruism. To sacrifice self for others is the root of being a mother. Learning to forsake myself taught me to be a better mother and a better person.
Learning that my two younger children were diagnosed with behavioral disorders motivated me to pursue my degree in Psychology.
After completing that coursework as a single mother of three very active children, my degree is one of my greatest accomplishments.
With a mother, who is a life long educator-retired and a father who was dedicated to his craft of automotive excellence... hard work, determination and dedication has never been a stranger.
After graduating from my mother’s alma mater, it is exciting to see both my eldest daughter and middle son follow in our footsteps by attending Alcorn State University! I am also extremely proud of my youngest son who is attending Southern University as a member of the world famed Human Jukebox!

I am a lover of love and life. My passion for people and especially children is evident in my career choice in Mental Health.

My heart for ministry keeps me busy in speaking, praise dance and as a praise dance leader. I am also a member of the Gospel Believers of Natchez,Ms.

I welcome every opportunity to learn something new and share what I have learned in life with others.

I will end with one of my favorite quotes attributed to former President Theodore Roosevelt, “ No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.”

So if I have nothing but my heart to give. It is of my heart that I am willing to share!

Thank you for your time. I truly appreciate you allowing me to share so much of who I am with you!

Hope to see you all soon & thank you for you support!

I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'Cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again

I am often asked to introduce and/or identify myself. My simple reply is, I am Tawana Johnson. Conversely, I am much more than a simple name. Like all women, I am composed of many constructs such as, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, size, and shape. I am also charged and blessed with the opportunity to be a mother. I rock a cradle for two young individuals of immanent intellectual and personal prowess. I am the single mother of Ms. Kaylyn Johnson, college bound honor student, and Mr. Keegan Johnson, budding scholar and athlete.

Our collective journey has seen lots of unexpected and difficult changes, nevertheless it has been a beautiful ride. While going through life’s ups and downs, I am learning so much from my children. However, it is my greatest hope that I have been a role model that they are proud to call mom.

I am so excited to be a part of the first class of women competing in the Mississippi Plus America pageant!

”What holds you back is not what you are. It's what you think you aren't.”

GREETINGS EVERYONE,

I am Mrs. Latanya Howard Triggs. I am the wife of the wonderful and gracious Mr. Timothy D.Triggs and the mother of four: Joseph (22), TaTyana (20), Jermiah (19), and Jabari (18). I left my hometown of Greenville (yes I am a DELTA GIRL) and moved to Clinton on October 4, 2014, with my four children, a u-haul full of furniture, $60 in my pocket, no job, and no family within 90 miles. However, what I did have was God, a vision, goals, ambition, desire, and a plan.

After searching and struggling for two months, I finally started working part-time at Kirkland’s in Flowood, Ms. I was at Kirkland’s for only two short months, because my passion is and will always be working with adults. God led me to call Baptist Adult day back in October, but they didn't have any openings at the time. However, I never gave up and I kept my faith. January 16, 2015, I was hired at BAPTIST ADULT DAY as a PRN program assistant. Because of my hard work, dedication, motivation, drive, and the favor of God I am now the Activities Director.

As the activities director, I plan, implement and evaluate activities for my clients who have different types of dementia such as Alzheimer’s. I design programs to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, fulfillment and improve their daily living skills. I thank GOD every day for preparing me for what he has prepared for me.

Overall, I am elated to have this opportunity to be your MRS. PLUS AMERICA 2020.

My name is Vershaune Stamps. I am a proud voice teacher and licensed esthetician from Jackson, Mississippi. My journey has been shaped by two deep passions: music and skincare. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to work in both of these fields, and I strive to inspire and empower others through the work I do.
I’ve always had a love for music, and that passion led me to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Tougaloo College, which I earned in 2018. During my time at Tougaloo, I developed my voice and expanded my understanding of performance. After graduation, I was fortunate to perform in professional musicals at New Stage Theater in Jackson, where I gained invaluable experience on stage.
As a voice teacher, I am passionate about helping my students discover their unique vocal sound and build the confidence to express themselves through music. Seeing them grow and flourish in their abilities is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
While music has always been my first love, my interest in skincare blossomed during my time as a freelance makeup artist. As I worked with clients to enhance their beauty for performances and special events, I realized how much I enjoyed helping people feel more confident in their own skin. This led me to the Mississippi Institute for Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nails, where I earned my esthetician license. I am now able to combine my love for artistry and self-care through my business, Face It Esthetics, where I offer personalized skincare treatments that empower my clients to feel radiant and confident.
I am incredibly excited to become a part of the MSPA Organization, where I look forward to serving my local community and helping to empower women everywhere.

Hi, my name is Markeisha Thomas, a proud mother from Bolton, MS. My message is simple: It’s okay not to be at your best, but it’s not okay to ignore getting the help you need. We all need support sometimes, and together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and self-care. It's important to recognize that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether it's seeking therapy, talking to a loved one, or just taking a moment for yourself, taking care of your well-being is essential. We are not meant to navigate life’s challenges alone, and by supporting one another, we can create a community where everyone feels valued and empowered.
