ABOUT ME

My name is Elizabeth "Bryce" Ramsey. I go by my middle name. I am one of the delegates for the Mrs. Mississippi Plus America title. I am 37 years old. I live in Canton, MS. I grew up in Rankin County. I have a beautiful family. I am a mother and wife. I have been married to my husband for 3 years. We have been together 8 years and have known each other for 14 years in total. He was my CPR instructor in nursing school back in 2007. We are a blended family. We have four beautiful children: daughter-Taylor (23), son-Jacob (19, recently deceased July 2023), son- Ashton (12), son-Emree (2).

I am a registered nurse. I have been in this field for 14 years. I have worked in various areas including floor nursing (bedside), to home health/hospice, surgery, and admissions coordinator, to my current role as a category manager within our supply chain at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. I work closely with the supply chain, value analysis teams, departments, vendors, and contracts departments to ensure proper procurement is met for stated funds as well as providing optimal care for our patients.

About My
Platform

My platform will be Colon Cancer Awareness. I am a 3-year survivor of stage 3 Colon Cancer. I was diagnosed at 33 years old. I’ve had 3 feet of my colon and 12 lymph nodes removed due to this terrible disease. I battled through chemotherapy and have successfully had clear scans for 3 years since then. Colon Cancer is often called the silent killer as it is oftentimes not discovered until it is too late. My surgeon said I likely had my cancer for 7-10 years, considering the size of my tumor and the fact it had invaded my lymphatic system. I want to be a voice to bring light to this area. I am a huge advocate to push for your screenings and scopes! Had I not listened to my body and trusted my gut, I may not be here to tell this story.
