ABOUT ME

Hello my name is Shameka Clayton and I work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I love listening to music, traveling, and learning about different cultures. I really enjoy spending time with my family and cooking! I love finding a new recipe to conquer. Being a BBW I am super excited for this opportunity to be apart of the Mississippi Plus America Pageant.
WHY I CHOSE MY PLATFORM
I chose my platform of being an advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities because I want to be that voice for those that are not able to have a voice. We all have the same rights and I am passionate about making sure that everyone is treated equally and are heard regardless of their diagnosis. I have worked with individuals with intellectual disabilities since I was in high school and I have been passionate about them since the beginning.
